Tai-chi is an ancient Chinese system of health exercises which can keep you youthful and vibrant throughout life.  They are simple to practice and require no strength or athletic ability.

Tai-chi is most known for reducing stress, increasing flexibility, strengthening the immune system, developing grace and agility and bringing back the joy of life.  It allows you to take control of your own life by restoring health, vitality and the joy of life.

It is also a system of self defense.  Tai-chi-Chuan (“Chuan” means fist or self defense) uses the attacker’s force against him and uses “internal energy” (“chi”) rather than muscular force alone.

Tai-chi is also a philosophy based on living in harmony with nature.  The “Yin/Yang” symbol explains the underlying principle that nature works as the interplay of cycles.  It helps us to learn how to flow with the cycles of our lives rather than being in a constant state of battle.

While the origins of Tai-chi go back many thousands of years, Tai-chi-Chuan, as it is now practiced, goes back to the Taoist, Chan San-Feng, who incorporated Tai-chi principles as a martial art.  Many of the exercises originate with him.
